Loyal clients of LP, esteemed health and fitness figures Kitty Blomfield and Craig McDonald, recently commissioned LP for an extensive photoshoot aimed at revitalising their company NuStrength's online presence. The objective? To curate a compelling visual narrative for their imminent website update and social media platforms. During this two-hour branding session, LP photographed both single and duo set-ups for Kitty and Craig, giving them a range of content over several different settings ranging from the kitchen to various backdrops and lighting setups, all within the LP Studio in Brisbane.

Here we detail some of the techniques and methods LP used to provide exactly what was needed for the entrepreneurial couple to really make their imagery have impact and aligning with their values!

Kitty and Craig pride themselves on helping women transform their bodies through improved metabolic function and strength training. They do this through programs, a podcast and a food tracking app and regularly share their advice through their online platforms, creating a huge following in their clients worldwide. Kitty has been featured on Sunrise, 10, Nine, Women’s Weekly and many other publications for her transformative ways. LP captured imagery that represents their goals, while also presenting a friendly and helpful professional coach giving NuStrength new branding imagery that takes their online presence to the next level.

In all our imagery, we photographed with the end result in mind…. Graphics, text and messages to be displayed on their website and social media. We planned the imagery with negative space and landscape and portrait orientation imagery to align for all platforms.

Throughout the photoshoot, LP photographed Kitty and Craig both separately and together. By representing their easy nature with each other in a fun and cohesive way, we can convey their work as a couple and how that is of greater benefit to clients.

COME BEHIND THE SCENES WITH BUSINESS PARTNER, EMILY, ON A LIFESTYLE PRODUCT PHOTOSHOOT WORKING WITH THE TEAM AT STRENGTH SANCTUARY FOR THE LAUNCH OF SANC WEAR, THEIR NEW FITNESS CLOTHING RANGE.

BRIEF: Strength Sanctuary wanted to capture their new fitness range for their gym, Sanc Wear, as a clothing range this is fun, edgy, you can wear as everyday clothing as well as at the gym. They wanted to capture the full colour range and details of the products across a range of models, male and female.

PHOTOSHOOT: We created a huge variety of imagery over a 2 hour period, capturing each coloured piece as a stand alone in many different poses as well as some more creative looks with lighting and cars, and in the gym. See our variety and behind the scenes video below.

Yesterday was a lot of FUN! After giving up our studio some time ago due to doing a lot of our client work on location, we booked a full day of client work and hired the Fox Street Studio to create some magic.

We had client’s with some fun ideas that we wanted to make a reality and the studio was the perfect place to make it happen. We had fitness competitors, nutritionists for branding and health influencers and created a great array of imagery!

Kymoo Sports: Brightening the Lives of Real Women: Brisbane Fitness & Personal Branding Imagery

I recently had the opportunity of working with the beautiful Suzi from the Middle East, on her active wear brand Kymoo Sport. Kymoo Sport is the UAE's first body positive and body inclusive active wear brand designed for those who dare to stand out! We created a vibrant array of images for her new campaign as well as new content for her social media and website.

When working commercially for a clothing brand, I like to get to know the look, feel and personality of the person that would be wearing the clothing. Suzi's brand was bright, open, fun and screamed energy which is what I wanted to channel in her images. 

We used some beautiful nature backdrops throughout Brisbane to create the perfect backdrop for the clothing to shine. I got to work with some beautiful, down to earth women on the campaign and together we created a beautiful set of images.

Celebrating International Women's Day with our Clients: Brisbane Fitness, Health, Boudoir & Personal Branding

Today we celebrate and support the achievements, success, motherhood, goals, inspiration, beauty and integrity of our fellow beautiful women, with International Women’s Day.

As a woman who works with women regularly in my role as a portrait and commercial photographer I want to share with you some (I wish I could put EVERYONE on here) of the beautiful people I have come across and their stories. I love to shout about the successes of other women and them reaching their goals, women being amazing mothers, women smashing their careers and supporting other women…..

Today, reach out to your closest women and share your gratitude for them and show your support to their journey. Today, I celebrate all the wonderful women I’ve got to know over my journey as a photographer and some of these incredible stories!

Lastly but not least, I celebrate ME! My own success, my journey, my influence on others, the people that have touched my life and changed me for the better, my friendships, my family, my happiness. So very grateful to have my health and be on earth the share my purpose with others.

Showcasing your Business Services Through Professional Branding Imagery: Brisbane's Shique Beauty

Ask yourself, what’s the most attention grabbing thing when someone searches for you, your company or your product? Imagery!

Your imagery reflects your brand. As a service provider, photographs of you working in your field is vital in portraying your personal brand or creating a personal connection with potential future clients. 

Under the LP Commercial Photography brand, I captured some commercial branding imagery for the lovely team at Shique Beauty to capture their services, their personalised service and their friendly and 5 star customer service. Such a lovely, open and glowing group of ladies who are amazing at what they do - hair, make-up and beauty services. 

The imagery that reflects your brand is the first contact many people will have with you. Simply having well taken imagery is not enough. At a glance, those images must also communicate and uphold your brand identity and core values. In a crowded marketplace identifying photographers who can achieve both stunning images and effectively communicate brand values is critical.

Get it wrong and best case scenario is you will need to spend more money on more imagery, worst case scenario is the imagery could alienate your consumers and clientele and have a real negative effect on your bottom line. Too often, people buy purely on cost then find that the cheapest option only ends up costing far more in the long run.

Kansai Karate - Capturing the award winning family business: Brisbane Commercial Fitness Photography

As a graphic designer, new media specialist and photographer with a background in marketing and business, I love when businesses get in contact to improve their branding, their imagery for social media/their website and for presenting a more professional representation of their brand in promotional materials. This is a real passion for us at LP Commercial Photography.

We are not just photographers at the end of the day, we are branding specialists, we guide our clients through planning their imagery, it’s uses, the type of imagery they need, examples of the imagery we could achieve etc.

I recently got to work with Father, Daughter & Son team, Stephen, Jamie and 11 year old Logan, from Kansai Karate Academy & Fitness by Jamie to create some professional imagery that reflected their values and showed off their state of the art facilities.

Kansai Karate Academy was founded by Stephen Kelly in Queensland in 1993 and is part of the worldwide Shito-ryu Shukokai World Karate Union. The Academy’s award-winning Honbu (Headquarters) Karate dojo and the High Performance Centre is located in the Brisbane western suburb of Sumner Park, which is approx. 15 kms from Brisbane city.

Kansai Karate won the Quest Newspaper Business Achiever of the Year for Fitness and Sport and operates a fully equipped, professional, full time dojo in Sumner Park and Satellite dojos in the suburbs of Clayfield, Moggill, Springfield and the Gold Coast.

Albi Swim: Brisbane Commercial Swimwear Range Photoshoot

We got to create some beautiful imagery for swimwear range Albi Swim, coming to the market soon! “For babes who love the sun on their face + sand on their feet”

The thing I loved about Sherrie’s branding is that she is catering for different body types and social media content concentrates on body confidence, friendship and experiences. The images feature 3 friends, happiness, laughing and confident women in the skin that they’re in.

Wild Hart: Boho Luxe, Eco-Inspired, Handmade Jewellery - Brisbane Lifestyle Product Photography

I love working with creatives!

In particular, last week I got to work with the lovely Jesse on her boho luxe, eco-inspired jewellery label “Wild Hart”. We created some beautiful lifestyle imagery, product content, flatlays and detailed product shots for her brand, ready to launch on the 15 December.

The thing I love most about her brand is the handmade, uniqueness of each piece. Jesse sources the flowers locally from the flower market and creates these one of a kind pieces. The first collection ready to launch in late December is called “Gaia” - a symbolism of Mother Earth, celebrating the beauty around us and the beauty within. The pieces are designed to encapsulate this and are so striking to the eye!

Getting into the spirit of Christmas! A great team of people: Perform 360

This week I had the pleasure of photographing the fun and fit Perform 360 team - Jason, Brent, Callum, Soni & Alex. Perform 360 is Brisbane's leading functional performance facility offering a range of activities including personal training, small group training, group classes, olympic lifting, gymnastics and yoga. 

The team regularly let me use their amazing space for LP fitness photoshoots and with their variety of workout areas I'm never stuck for locations to shoot!

I really wanted to capture a bit of the fun, quirky side of the team! With their fitness & gymnastics backgrounds we wanted to make their team photos a bit more fun. Great working with the team, creating some great team portraits and Christmas themed images for social marketing. Check out some of my favs below <3

Capturing a beautiful musician

This month has been a great month for creative work and working with some of my best friends to execute some stunning personal projects. I was lucky enough to photograph my best friend (and now housemate) for future marketing material as a musician. 

Jesse has a very elegant style about her, relaxed and easy going, boho but stylish, pretty but also striking! She has a very beautiful and unique look about her and her music is to die for.

Lucy and Loo Fashion Editorial: Celtic Collection

We recently had the opportunity to photograph the beautiful convertible dresses for fashion line Lucy and Loo on the Sunshine Coast. The Australian made convertible dresses are quality Italian microfibre that can be wrapped and twisted into almost any style – making them the perfect bridesmaid dress! 

Both Andy and I went along to the photoshoot to get two different perspectives. As photographers we have two completely different styles that complement each other really well. The shoot was Celtic inspired, being half Irish myself  I was very keen and knew exactly what sort of images my client imagined and knew we could deliver.
